Our Osteopaths provide individual treatment and management approaches to our patients so they are getting the most efficient and quickest recovery possible. They treat and help manage conditions including, but not limited to:

-   Upper, mid and lower back and neck pain

- Sporting injuries such as tendinopathy, tendinitis, epicondylitis, strains and tears

- Pregnancy related pain

- Joint and muscle pain

- Headaches and migraines

- Inflammatory and chronic conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and osteoporosis.

What to expect during a consultation

Initial consultations will involve an extensive case history, medical history and past history. This enables the Osteopath to fully consider all areas of your life that may be impacting your current state for example:

  • Other medical conditions

  • Previous injuries, accidents or surgeries

  • Stress

  • Psychological factors

  • Nutrition factors

  • Exercise

This is preceded by postural and biomechanical examinations along with orthopaedic/neurological testing when required. A diagnosis will then be provided and a treatment will follow with techniques including:

  • Soft tissue techniques

  • Stretching techniques

  • Gentle joint mobilisation and manipulation

  • Balancing techniques of ligaments and muscles

  • Muscle energy techniques

  • Myofascial release

  • Ultrasound

Who do we treat

People of all ages from children and adolescents to adults, pregnant women and seniors.

Most young children are treated for:

  • Injuries which occur in the school yard or at their local sporting club

  • Rehabilitation following a fractured bone, dislocated joint or torn muscle

  • Respiratory conditions e.g. Asthma

  • Hereditary conditions e.g. scoliosis and spina bifida

Adolescent children are more commonly treated for "growing pains" which manifest in their back, hips, knees or heels. They tend to be fairly heavily involved with sport and complain of pain stopping them from playing. Children/adolescents are also often treated for postural complaints resulting from a heavy school bag and using a laptop on their bed, floor or couch.

Adults
With all the day to day stressors we are exposed to within our occupation and lifestyle, we often experience aches and pains throughout our body. Some commonly treated conditions include:

  • Disc bulges, pressure on spinal joints and nerves

  • Referred arm or leg pain

  • Muscle strains and tears throughout the body

  • Ligament injuries

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Postural complaints

  • Tennis elbow and RSI

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Tendonitis

Seniors tend to be treated for:

  • Mobility problems

  • Arthritis

  • General muscular and joint aches and pains
